The query module allows you to generate customized reports and is made up of:
An area whose purpose is to formulate queries,
A function tool designed to make the most of the results.
Query formulation is easy and intuitive; it is not necessary to be a
database expert. While the system is very easy to use, it is still very powerful, allowing
you to define queries that integrate up to 25 conditions set with the Boolean
AND and
OR instructions.
Each condition may involve any database field (including those defined by the user)
and allows you to compare one field to a given value (for example, searching for all
parts which quantity in stock is less than 10) or to compare two fields (for
example, searching for all parts which quantity in stock is less than the minimum
stock).
Conditions can be formulated with the definition of the fields to be displayed
in the results window. Moreover, it is possible to make advanced calculations on these
fields (sum, average, minimum et maximum).
A query result takes the shape of a table where the columns show the selected fields.
The data displayed, which may be sorted in a according to a multitude of criteria, may be printed
and exported.
In addition, the report table allows you to locate data and supports
drag/drop operations
into active system documents (useful when adding a part to an assembly, for example).
It is also possible to associate reports with Part-List Plus' main windows.
This allows you to launch a report execution simply and easily and to automatically define parameters
according to the correct circumstances. For example, in a window displaying a parts list, when clicking
on one of them and then launching the report «List of purchase orders that are under process
for this part», the list of all suppliers purchase orders (POs) including this part is displayed immediately, within seconds.
Afterwards, when you click on a particular PO in the report, and open the window that allows you to edit
the supplier POs, not only is the correct PO displayed but the actual part that was initially searched for is
automatically shown.
The rapid, ergonomic and pleasant view of the report builder gives you immediate and interactive access to all the
information you require.
